Slice doesn't work to view textures these days. At least, it extracted absolutely *none* of the JPG2000 textures in my cache. Oh it claimed to be doing so, but none showed up.

Couldn't say that on SLU as the thread was already closed - but heh, figure I will write it here. Not going into the gory details (yeap, I got it to compile... and it's not easy) but definitely not working with recent clients in the way its coded. At least not on Windows, can't say how anything is on Linux or Macs.

I'm sure its possible with enough effort, but anyone bandying about Slice being used, apparantly hasn't used it at all recently or have surmounted some high hurdles to get it working. It's definitely not for the inexperienced.

So however folks are doing whatever it is they are doing in that thread, they obviously have something different.

On a side note, this is my first time really sitting down and compiling C++/C# programs. Egads. What a way to get warmed up to stuff like Mono coming along :P (I think my next compile project will be the shadow draft client grin)

Good approach to an old problem.
