If I was using a computer with this CPU:

AMD LIVE Smarter Digital Entertainment AMD Phenom X4 9650 Quad-Core Processor
with 8GB of PC2-6400 DDR2 SDRAM memory (4x2048MB)

With this graphics card:

ATI Radeon HD 4850 512MB GDDR3 Video Card

Would I really need this graphics accelerator card:

BFG Ageia PhysX 128MB DDR3 PCI Graphics Accelerator Card

or would it be overkill (or will it even work with that graphics card)?

Basically I'm thinking of buying this computer: http://www.shopping.hp.com/product/rts_desktop/rts_desktop/1/storefronts/FQ563AA%2523ABA

and putting this graphics card in it: http://www.jr.com/diamond-multimedia/pe/DDD_4850PE3512/#productTabShipping

and I'm wondering if I should also buy this accelerator to put in it too: http://www.buy.com/prod/bfg-ageia-physx-128mb-ddr3-pci-graphics-accelerator-card/q/loc/101/204890790.html

Why ATI?

nVidia has physX built in.

The reviews I read about the ATI seem to indicate it was better than the comparably priced nVidia cards.

I went ahead and bought that computer. It arrived three hours ago.

WOOHOO! This thing freaking ROCKS! I was downloading WOW, Installing Second Life and downloading/installing Open Office all at the same time and it didn't even blink! In fact, I could have sworn I heard it mumble "that all you got bitch?" =P

Now I just need to order that video card and I will be having orgasms every time I touch the keyboard. :P

Come on, I know you guys are much more tech savy than I am - do I need the graphics accelerator card, or is that overkill?

I didn't think I was capable of falling in love again.

I was wrong.

I want to marry this computer and have it's children.

is that wrong? O.O

Overkill unless you're a serious hard-core gamer.

No, but it might sting.

The accelerator is overkill. Right now ATI is making the better cards but Nvidia normally does and will again.
