Some hot honey and lemon (oh, and there might be a lil' something stronger in there, too!) for you, Pea.

I'm off to bed (much too late!) but thought I'd leave out a nice tray of blueberry muffins for you early risers

Enjoy!

Nice to see you for a bit last night Peasan, amidst our crashes. Feeling up for some cinnamon toast and juice?

I'm all energetic and inspired. It could of course be a trick... but I'm going with it and deciding that the first day of a new month shall hold all sorts of promises.

Good morning JFZ. :coffee:

It's a cool, damp start to the day here. I'm in the mood for some oatmeal. Rather bland by itself but with dried cherries, nuts and brown sugar it is a treat.

If you've the time to carmelize bananas, that's tasty, too :munch:

Mmm, thanks Margaret. I like raisins or apples and cinnamon in my oatmeal -- both with a little brown sugar and milk. Mmm.

Good morning, JFZ!

Does anyone besides me sometimes long for the olde fashioned original unflavored Doritos? Sure there is a mountain of other brands of unflavored chips out there, but none with quite the taste of the original.

I hear that, I wish I could buy applesauce that doesn't have some sort of coloring, gimmick, or other fruit mixed into it. Or I go to get those little fruit cups and there are 15 rows of different flavors of jello with 3 little pieces of fruit in each cup...

Good morning JFZ. :coffee:

Old Man passed on early this morning, quietly as I had hoped. I only heard a few soft moans as I held him through the night. He had an unusually warm September to enjoy many long naps in the sun. We should all be so lucky when we meet our end.

So it's a good day for reminiscing and appreciating simple pleasures. Maybe not a classic breakfast but comfort food nonetheless...

I appreciate all of your kind thoughts. :grouphug:

Pets touch our lives in the best way. My favorite aunt was rather fond of Old Man and shed a few tears at his passing. She was embarassed by this, saying that she cried more for this cat than she did for her own sister who passed earlier this summer. :P

Earlier I was remembering a NPR segment which reported that in Iraq the death at the end of a long life due to natural causes is being celebrated as a blessing at a time when violent deaths before one's proper time are a daily occurence.

Just some thoughts I had today. :o

You know, after I saw that picture I picked up some filo dough and tried it. It is wonderful. Scotch Eggs are on my list to try, too. I hope they're as good as they look.

Thick and greasy, definitely NOT breakfast food after a night of drinking...(or when coming down with the flu, as was my situation when I first encountered them) But taken cold, and microwaved.. ZOMG I love em. one of the few things I'll eat with ketchup.

After those buns I think I'll need a healthy start to the day.

Image

and maybe some eggs florentine if you're still hungry.

Image

Almost forgot the coffee.
