I have returned from Hawaii :cry:

I'm happy to report though, that the local microbrew was excellent. Even if the poolside bar did get run out of Keoki Gold, and Keoki Sunset 3 time during my trip *looks around innocently*

What's with all this new forums stuffs?

When I reply to the lower left corner of the text window it says "BBCode is OFF" which would prevent the image tags from working, I believe.

Hmmm, apparently you can post an image as an attachment in a regular Post Reply page (scroll down), but you'll have to have the image on your HD to do it (can you see the pic below?)

Vivi,

We did the tour, and you actually get to sample 11 different dark chocolates from around the world at one point. :D

You also get to try a bunch of different fruits while walking the tour (Several types of limes, starfruits, apple bananas, sugar cane, and I forget what else)

Started off my holiday weekend enjoying a tribute to Marvin Gaye from a Lalah Hathaway, Rahsaan Patterson, and José James, backed by a Detroit all-star big band, led by Christian McBride. McBride, who hails from Philadelphia, is the Artist in Residence for the 2008 Detroit International Jazz Festival. This year's theme is A Love Supreme: the Philly-Detroit Summit, a celebration of the bop and soul legacies of Detroit and Philly. It ain't Hawaii but it sure feels like Paradise Valley to me. :dancingbanana:

That photo montage looks more like the Hamtramck Festival as experienced by my wild child, Monna. While looking for a youtube of the jazz fest to share with the JFZ, I happened across this one for the Hamtramck fest. Imagine my surprise when the first thing I see is my wild child wearing her "Im not just perfect I'm Polish too" t-shirt and her partner in crime.

wild child: oh good... cuz the Hamtramck police drove me (mfumenote: 30 mile trip) so that Gina wouldn't drive while drunk.

wild child: I got arrested but I got off because Gina is dating a police officer.
Mfume: Since when?
wild child: since last night
Mfume: :eyebrow:

Mfume: So, you were arrested for underage drinking?
wild child: no. A guy called me a *%#@! so I punched him in the face and the police arrested me for causing a disturbance.
Mfume: Again?
wild child: I had to teach him to respect women.

Message to police: FINDERS KEEPERS! :argh:

I am observing this Labor Day in remembrance of the labor pains I endured 18 years ago which continue to this very day. When will it ever end?

I worded that sentence poorly, I was speaking to Monna in reference to her photo montage. The wild child was named Regina after my mother. I think that my cat, Reggie, who came into my life a few months after my mom died, did more to honor the name.
